Antique Hand Blown Mercury Glass Candlestick (DAMAGED!)

A real piece of mercury glass, which was one of the first types of art glass. This candlestick has not had its cork/plug in for some time, so the film of silver nitrate has degraded a bit giving it a decorative speckled look.

There are many signs of this being real mercury glass including the double wall technique, uneven spots and an open pontil mark on the bottom. And last but not least: it only weighs 92 grams!

The top broke when putting in a candle (see pictures). Probably late 19th to early 20th century.
